This week the 2012 USP <797> Compliance Study opened, led by sterile compounding experts and Study Co-Directors, Eric Kastango, RPh, MBA, FASHP, and Kate Douglass, MS, RN, APN,C, CRNI.
First conducted in 2011, the study is the largest and most comprehensive study of USP 797 compliance ever undertaken in the United States. Eric and Kate were able to present their findings from last year's survey in one of our more popular webinars.
The study uses a sophisticated web-based <797> Gap Analysis Tool that Eric and Kate developed and have been using for the last several years. This tool is being made available at no charge to all study participants.
Participants in the study will receive a highly detailed Action Plan that is automatically generated based on the participant's answers to the survey. This Action Plan provides documentation that can be used to begin or continue sterile compounding practice improvements at your location.
The survey takes 60 to 90 minutes to complete but does not need to be completed at one sitting. All individual facility results are confidential - only aggregate data will be used in the study report.
