Pharmacy OneSource Acquires MedBoard Application from MedKeeper

MedBoard ScreenshotNow more than ever, we know that reducing waste is of top priority for our customers. We're thrilled to present MedBoard as a proven model of reducing lost and wasted medications to help with your financial performance. Together with our other applications, MedBoard strengthens Pharmacy OneSource's commitment to swift and safe healthcare.

MedBoard is a web-based Medication Tracking System that records and tracks preparation and delivery activities of orders throughout a hospital to reduce lost and missing meds that contribute to approximately $400 per bed per year of preventable waste.

MedBoard allows pharmacy and nursing to monitor delivery times which reduces calls to pharmacy and minimizes lookup time.  By enhancing the workflow, MedBoard helps the pharmacy gain efficiency by queuing and prioritizing orders to reduce waste and re-work.  Through robust reporting, MedBoard allows the pharmacy to demonstrate performance to administration and nursing.

"Pharmacy OneSource shares our passion for pharmacy excellence, and we feel confident that they are well-positioned to represent the MedBoard medication tracking system," said Jason Kilgour, president and CEO of MedKeeper based in Westminster, Colorado. "Hospital pharmacies have been looking for something like this for years because the benefits run throughout the organization. Nurses can get their medications to patients more quickly and it reduces wasteful re-orders from communication breakdowns."

Pharmacy OneSource will be responsible for the further development of MedBoard and its marketing, sales and full-service support. Request a free demo or more information at http://www.pharmacyonesource.com/medboard

Upcoming USP 797 Webinar: "De-mystifying Beyond-Use Dating"

Determining beyond-use dating (BUD) continues to vex pharmacists and technicians and is one of the most frequently asked questions of the chapter. Historically, BUDs were assigned solely on chemical stability data. USP Chapter 797 requires that both chemical stability and microbial stability be factored when assigned BUD to CSPs.

In an effort to bring clarity to this criticality important aspect of the USP chapter, Eric S. Kastango will review beyond-use dating and the requirements as they apply to USP 797. Register for this webinar.
