Bellevue, Washington -- Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, is hosting a complimentary webinar with Shamim Tejani, PharmD in "Parenteral Nutrition in the Pediatric Patient."

Hospitalized pediatric patients sometimes require nutrition support. Parenteral nutrition (PN), the delivery of nutrients into the circulatory system, is often used to maximize caloric intake while oral feedings or enteral feedings are established. Tejani will discuss the assessment and prescription of PN for the hospitalized pediatric patient.

About the Presenter: Shamim Tejani, PharmD is currently practicing as a Clinical Pharmacist for Adelante Healthcare in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Tejani has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the Journal of Rheumatology. Dr. Tejani has authored ACPE articles for pharmacists on pediatric asthma, HIV, and the management of pediatric conditions in the outpatient setting. She has also written a book chapter in the Pediatrics On-Call handbook and has co-authored her own handbook, Davis’s Pocket Clinical Drug Reference. She has served as a reviewer for Mosby’s Nursing Drug Reference and as a consultant author for Davis’s Drug Guide for Nurses.
